The Great Forest Trail Marathon on 20 November 2022 in the Yarra Valley is a trail running initiative to raise awareness and funds to support the campaign to establish the Great Forest National Park.
Challenge yourself to complete either a 22km or 44km trail run. The trails will comprise single and double tracks, across diverse landscapes including mature stands of Mountain Ash forests, temperate rainforest, grasslands and heathlands.
Great Forest National Park has partnered with Patagonia to deliver this event. The campaign is centred around protecting the wider region to preserve the unique Mountain Ash trees, important aboriginal archaeology and a growing number of threatened and endangered species of flora and fauna.
The Marathon is to inspire more like minded people to come to the Yarra Valley and respectfully visit this globally unique forest environment.
